Η Λουίζα είναι ο πιο ζωνταντός άνθρωπος που θα συναντήσετε ποτέ. Κι όμως, πάσχει από καρκίνο του αίματος και της μένει λιγότερο από ένας χρόνος ζωής (σήμερα είναι 5 Ιουνίου 2015). Γι'αυτό ψάχνουμε επειγόντως για δότες μυελού των οστών (στην ουσία δότες αιμοποιητικών κυττάρων) για να σώσουμε τη μητέρα μας και οποιονδήποτε άλλον ασθενή στον κόσμο. Oi πιθανότητες για εύρεση συμβατού δότη αυξάνονται μεταξύ ανθρώπων της ίδιας καταγωγής, γι'αυτό ζητάμε τη βοήθεια όλων των Ελλήνων, αλλά και όλου του κόσμου.

Πώς μπορείς να βοηθήσεις:
Εαν είσαι στην Ελλάδα:
1. Παραγγέλνεις τα σύνεργα λήψης δείγματος σάλιου από το http://www.xarisezoi.gr . Όταν παραλάβεις τα σύνεργα και βάλεις το δείγμα σάλιου σου, το στέλνεις πίσω στο ΚΕΔΜΟΠ-Χάρισε Ζωή, στον φάκελο που σου έχουν δώσει.
2. Στη συνέχεια, το δείγμα σάλιου σου αναλύεται στα εργαστήρια για να εξακριβωθεί ο τύπος του ιστού των αιμοποιητικών κυττάρων σου. Έτσι, μπαίνεις ανώνυμα στην παγκόσμια "δεξαμενή" δοτών μυελού των οστών. Όταν βρεθείς συμβατός με κάποιον ασθενή στον κόσμο, καλείσαι να πας για μια απλή αιμοδοσία, κατά την οποία συλλέγουν αιμοποιητικά σου κύτταρα.
3. Μόλις έσωσες μια ζωή! Στείλε μας φωτογραφίες ή βίντεο από την όλη διαδικασία, όπως την έζησες για να τα δημοσιεύσουμε! Έτσι, θα παρακινήσουμε κι άλλους να γίνουν δότες.
Εάν είσαι στο εξωτερικό, μπορείς να κάνεις ακριβώς την ίδια διαδικασία, ανάλογα τη χώρα στην οποία είσαι.

Louiza is the most lively person you'll ever meet. Yet, she's fighting blood cancer and has less than a year's life left (today is 5 June 2015). This is why we are urgently looking for bone marrow donors (in essence, stem cell donors) to save our mother and every other patient out there. The chances of finding a match are increased among people of the same ethnic origin, therefore, we are asking for the help of all the Greeks, but also of all the people out there.

How you can help:
1. You can order your saliva sample kit from the website of the country you are in (see the websites at the end of this post). After inserting your saliva sample, you should send it back to the organisation in the folder they provided you with.
2. Following this, your saliva will be examined in a lab so that your stem cell tissue type can be determined. This way, you will be anonymously inserted in the global bone marrow donors register. When you are a match with some patient around the world, you will be asked to go for a simple blood donation, during which some of your stem cells will be collected.
3. You just saved a life! You can send us photos or videos of the whole procedure, as you experienced it so that we publish them! This way we will urge more people to become donors.
